Anna Moyers Stone joined the Trust Department at MidWestOne Bank in March 2013. Before joining the Bank, she practiced law in Iowa City at the law firm of Phelan, Tucker, Mullen, Walker, Tucker & Gelman LLP for over six years. In addition to being a CTFA, Anna received her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, and her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College.
Brian D. Hunt, V.P. & Trust Operations Manager. Brian has been involved in the trust arena for over 30 years and holds a Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP) designation with the Institute of Certified Bankers. He has worked for a number of large banking organizations including HSBC, M&T Bank, and Regions and joined MidWestOne in 2009. Brian holds both a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He has volunteered with a number of community organizations including the Workplace Learning Connection, the Preucil School of Music, Habitat for Humanity, and the Knights of Columbus.
Dennis J Evans works in the Cedar Valley area. Dennis has over 35 years of trust and banking experience with the last 35 years being in the trust arena. Dennis received his Bachelors of Arts from Central College in Pella. He joined the MidWestOne Bank organization in 2005. Previous experience: Lincoln Savings Bank- Senior Vice President and Trust Officer and Guaranty Bank of Cedar Rapids-Vice President and Trust Officer
Dennis J Mitchell joined the Trust Department at MidWestOne Bank in November 2014. He was previously in private practice as an attorney and partner at Meardon, Sueppel & Downer P.L.C. in Iowa City for more than fourteen years. In addition to his law degree, Dennis has an undergraduate degree in Economics.
Kevin J. Mote has been in the bank trust and brokerage industry for 25 years. He has spent much of his time counseling customers about their investments, retirement plans, and estate plans. He has his Series 7 Brokerage license, along with his Life, Health, and Variable Lines insurance licenses. He took over the Trust Department’s property management role 2 years ago and spends most of his time managing our customers' commercial, residential, and farm properties. He has a BA in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa. He lives in Mt. Vernon with his wife of 26 years, Patty, and they have two sons.
Lia Lovelace has been in the trust and banking industry for over 25 years. She is responsible for the administration area of Trust Services, as well as trust, estate and agency account management. Lia is a graduate of the University of Iowa and is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. She has been with MidWestOne Bank since October 1987.
Neil A. Joss Neil is responsible for investment selection and management for the Trust Services Department client portfolios. He graduated from the University of Iowa, and received his MBA from the University of Iowa, and joined MidWestOne Bank in 2015. He has nearly 15 years of fixed income and real estate investment experience, holding positions with increasing responsibility at Aegon Asset Management, including 8 years managing asset portfolios. Previous experience also includes trading mortgage back securities.
Thais Winkleblack began her career as a community banker with MidWestOne Bank in 1998. She helped to create the Private Banking Department at MidWestOne Bank in 2005. Her work in wealth management often focuses on the practicalities of financial planning and the complexities of family relationships, and how to bring continuity to these two important facets of our lives. She excels at project management and uses her expertise to help individuals and organizations identify their goals and create a plan to meet them. She is a graduate of the Iowa School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado; she holds a B.A. in Russian from Grinnell College. She is passionate about the community in which she lives and works and is involved in a number of area organizations. Some highlights of her community engagement are: Past President of the Iowa City Foreign Relations Council, Past President of the Iowa City Noon Rotary Club, Past Chair of Women Build (Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity) for two consecutive years, and a founding member of the Executive Council of 5224Good--a learning and giving circle in Johnson County.
Thomas G. Nelson has been in the trust and banking industry for 30 years and has been involved in all aspects of Trusts and Estates, Private Banking and Investments. He has managed Trust Departments in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines and Iowa City, and holds his CTFA. Tom graduated from Augustana College, received his J.D. from Drake University, and joined MidWestOne Bank in 2008. Previous Experience: Wells Fargo Bank - Vice President of Trust; and Brenton Bank – Vice President of Trust.
